Avenue south residences condo4

Many couples desire to travel to New York City to get married in Central Park. Central Park offers quite a number of scenic and intimate locations to get married, whether it is a huge wedding or a simple elopement. I have been fortunate to have been able to officiate a handful of wedding ceremonies in Central Park. The weddings that I officiated took place at the Conservatory Garden, Belvedere Castle, Wagner's Cove, Ladies Pavilion, and Harlem Meer. All of these locations are excellent and unique in their own special way. I will provide a brief overview of each site. Please note that if you plan on having a huge wedding you must obtain a permit from the park.

Conservatory Garden

The Conservatory Garden is located on the East Side at 5th Avenue and 105th Street. This garden features a nice green lawn along with a huge water fountain. There are 3 separate gardens with beautiful flowers all around. There are plenty of walkways. Runners and bikes are not allowed. The Conservatory Garden is one of the more hidden areas in Central Park. The garden is gated and access is restricted to certain times.

Belvedere Castle

Belvedere Castle is located close to West 79th Street. The castle is on a hill and Avenue south residences condo offers an excellent view of many famous areas of Central Park, including the Great Lawn and Turtle Pond. Wedding ceremonies take place on the grounds just outside of the castle.

Wagner's Cove

Wagner's Cove is a very intimate spot to get married. The cove is situated down a little hill. It is located near West 72nd Street and is also near Strawberry Fields. Weddings take place in the shelter at the base of the lake.

Ladies Pavilion

Ladies Pavilion is absolutely gorgeous! This is my favorite Central Park location for weddings. Ladies Pavilion is very scenic featuring a huge rock at the foot of the lake. The pavilion offers a pretty view of the skyscrapers to the south. Weddings take place in the fancy cast-iron shelter. This site is definitely a winner! The pavilion is located off of West 75th Street. It is a little tricky to find. You really have to look for it.

Harlem Meer

Harlem Meer is an eleven acre lake located in the northeast corner of Central Park. It is just north of the Conservatory Garden. The main entrance is at 5th Avenue and 110th Street. You can walk around the lake in about 15 to 20 minutes. Harlem Meer includes the Dana Discover Center and is also next to the Lasker Rink/Swimming Pool. Weddings can take place at several spots within Harlem Meer.
